Staying at Mara West Camp

The escarpment setting offers pool time and a community programme between wildlife outings. Family accommodation has separate bedrooms, while simpler cottages use shared bathrooms; these different room styles sit within the accommodation guide. The complete safari cost depends on the selected service: Inclusive stays exclude drives and airstrip transfers, whereas the Game package includes shared drives and Kichwa Tembo transfers. The flight planning guide covers fly-in travel. Exclusive guiding is a separate private-safari arrangement, family units have their own occupancy basis, and laundry inclusion varies by package.

Location & arrival

The setting

On the Oloololo Escarpment above the Mara Triangle, outside the National Reserve. Camp access to wildlife drives and park entry are separate from sleeping at the property. No private-conservancy access entitlement is claimed.

Gate & airstrip access

Kichwa Tembo airstrip transfers are included in the Game package. Flights are extra, and the lodge-only Inclusive package excludes airstrip transfers. The landing strip, transfer and access charges depend on the itinerary. Road access calls for a suitable well-maintained four-wheel-drive vehicle; journey times vary with the route and conditions.

Families & children

Children sharing with adults have different accommodation age bands: below three stay free, three to five pay a reduced child percentage, and six to twelve have another reduced band. Children in their own room have a separate basis. Park entry, flights and optional activities are not free under these terms. Family prices depend on ages and sleeping arrangements. Adults normally use single or double occupancy; adult triples require written approval. Walking and balloon suitability are decided by the relevant provider and guide. Children require supervision around wildlife, verandas and the pool.

Accessibility

The escarpment setting and different room styles affect vehicle-to-room and dining routes, bathroom layouts and vehicle boarding. Available assistance depends on individual mobility needs; whole-property step-free access is not established.

Rates & booking

The lodge-only Inclusive package excludes game drives and airstrip transfers. The Game package includes shared drives and Kichwa Tembo transfers, without exclusive use for a party. Our all-inclusive private safaris include dedicated transport and guiding and scheduled compulsory access charges. Comprehensive travel and medical insurance is required. Deposit, balance and cancellation conditions apply before payment. Laundry is included only in packages that expressly include it.
