Plan the journey

Location & arrival

The setting

Along Sand River in the southern Maasai Mara National Reserve, close to the Tanzanian border. Riverine trees, rocky banks and open plains frame the camp. Sand River and Little Sand River are adjoining areas of this property, each with its own dining and shared guest spaces; they are not separate properties added to the inventory.

Gate & airstrip access

Fly-in arrival: Keekorok Airstrip is the designated arrival point. Arrange the onward camp transfer with the flight itinerary. Flights and airstrip transfers are extra to the full-board starting amount.

Road arrival: This is a southern Reserve stay. Plan the appropriate public entry gate and internal Reserve route with the driver for the actual departure point, road conditions and booked itinerary. No numerical journey time or nearest-gate claim is given here.

Reserve entry: Visitor, vehicle and applicable landing charges need to be included in the written itinerary. Allow for the arrival and departure arrangements when calculating compulsory charges.

Good to know

Families & children

Children are welcome, with a family suite and children’s menus. Child accommodation terms depend on age, sharing and the chosen room configuration; the adult PPS base does not price a family booking. Extra beds are available only in suitable tents and need confirmation. Children must be supervised around the swimming pool and follow staff instructions in this unfenced wildlife setting. Activity eligibility and compulsory visitor fees are separate from accommodation concessions.

Accessibility

Canvas tents, wooden verandas and paths between accommodation and shared areas require individual mobility and bathroom-access assessment. A step-free tent or wheelchair-accessible bathroom specification has not been established.
