Location & arrival

The setting

In Mara Naboisho Conservancy in the Greater Maasai Mara, outside the National Reserve. The camp’s wildlife programme follows conservancy permissions; National Reserve visits need separately planned transport and entry.

Gate & airstrip access

Good to know

Families & children

Encounter Mara has two family tents, with other tent arrangements allocated for the travelling party. For admitted children aged five to twelve, a private vehicle is required under the supplier terms, with season, group size and availability conditions. Balloon flights and other activities have separate safety and eligibility rules. Parents and guardians supervise children throughout the stay.

Accessibility

Tent entrances, outdoor paths and vehicle boarding need assessment against the individual traveller’s requirements. An adapted bathroom or fully step-free route has not been verified.

Rates & booking

Ordinary drives follow the camp programme and are not a guaranteed dedicated private vehicle. Families with children aged five to twelve must pre-book a private vehicle: in high season a family of fewer than five pays for it, while the supplier’s low/green and qualifying larger-family allowances remain subject to availability and confirmation. Without a suitable available vehicle the booking may not be accommodated. Our complete All-Inclusive Safari quote specifies private transport and scheduled compulsory access charges. Accommodation Only retains the booked camp service basis. Current supplier terms require Emergency Support Cover in addition to the guest’s own insurance. Early airstrip pickups, late departure and room retention may incur additional charges. It supports the supplier’s emergency response and works alongside the traveller’s own insurance; it is not a replacement for comprehensive medical or travel insurance. The supplier’s deposit and cancellation terms create obligations before arrival, while changing government or third-party costs may affect confirmed arrangements. Read the dated terms accompanying the quote and retain them with the itinerary. The starting amount does not hold a room or establish refund rights. Encounter Mara Camp describes its normal operating period from June through April, with a May closure. Guests should follow the safety briefing, particularly when moving between their tent and shared areas after dark.
