Staying at Mara Toto Tree Camp

Mara Toto Tree Camp’s raised canvas suites sit among ebony trees above the Ntiakitiak River, with private lounges, verandas, copper baths and indoor showers. Elevated routes and vehicle boarding are material to individual mobility requirements. Scheduled wildlife outings use shared vehicles unless exclusive service is added; walking activities are unavailable at Great Plains’ Mara camps. The safari cost guide covers the mandatory Foundation contribution and separate private service, the Mara flight guide explains eligible scheduled connections and minimum-stay conditions, and the weather guide describes outdoor conditions. Staff movement rules apply in the unfenced camp, and comprehensive travel and medical insurance is required from confirmation.

Location & arrival

The setting

Raised guest suites within ebony trees overlooking the Ntiakitiak River in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Camp wildlife viewing includes scheduled outings in the Reserve and Mara North Conservancy under operator arrangements. The camp is unfenced; parents supervise children and guests follow staff instructions on elevated routes and around wildlife.

Gate & airstrip access

Return Ol Kiombo airstrip road transfers are included. Scheduled seat-in-plane transfers from Nairobi Wilson or eligible Greater Mara properties require a minimum two-night stay on the full standard nightly rate; other routings have their own flight cost. The actual connection, baggage conditions and route are booking-specific; free international or city transfers are not included by default.

Good to know

Families & children

Current 28 August 2026 rack manual admits children from six. Child rates apply to one child aged fifteen or younger sharing with one adult in a suite, when available; sixteen and older pay adult rates and occupy a separate suite. Families join shared wildlife activities with other guests unless dedicated service is separately booked. Manager discretion, ability and safety govern participation. The camp is unfenced and has no childcare facilities; parents remain responsible throughout. Walking activities are not offered at the operator’s Maasai Mara camps. Foundation contribution applies to every age.

Accessibility

Raised deck and tree-canopy routes are material to access. Suitability depends on the selected suite, steps, bathroom and vehicle boarding; an individual request does not establish whole-camp accessibility.

Standard cancellation conditions apply, without an included free-cancellation benefit. A complete private safari through MaasaiMara.ke includes dedicated guiding and vehicles and scheduled compulsory property/access charges.
