Staying at Saruni Mara

Saruni Mara’s cottages have private verandas, while its family and private villas offer separate rooming and service arrangements. Ordinary cottage drives are shared; an exclusive vehicle costs extra. Children of all ages can stay, but walking safaris require guests to be eighteen or over. Include daily conservation charges and compulsory evacuation membership in the safari cost comparison. Use the flight guide to coordinate the booked airstrip transfer and the weather guide for seasonal planning. The photographs provide wider-Mara landscape and wildlife context, rather than showing current lodge rooms.

Location & arrival

The setting

On a forested hillside in Mara North Conservancy, with views over a secluded valley and the surrounding plains. This is outside the National Reserve. The ordinary wildlife programme uses conservancy permissions; separately arranged Reserve visits require their own access arrangements.

Gate & airstrip access

Return airstrip transfers are included under the booked camp arrangement; flights are extra. Agree the precise landing strip, flight and camp transfer in the written itinerary before buying tickets. Road access follows the booked route and current conditions. No fixed drive duration or nearest Reserve gate distance is claimed.

Good to know

Families & children

Children of all ages are welcome. Children below five sharing with adults stay free under the accommodation terms, which does not make every transfer or activity free. A family villa uses a separate whole-unit tariff; standard-cottage family sharing follows different rules. Children’s ages, the adult count and sleeping needs determine the room arrangement. Walking safaris are restricted to guests aged eighteen and over. Warriors Academy requires advance booking and is available on request. Parents or guardians remain responsible for their children.

Accessibility

The operator identifies a ground-level family accommodation option accessible from the parking area. Mobility suitability depends on its bathroom, veranda, hillside routes, vehicle boarding and individual needs. This does not establish step-free access for every cottage or the whole lodge.

Rates & booking

The starting amount refers to two adults sharing a safari cottage in November, with full board and shared camp drives; family and private villas are separately priced. The ordinary cottage programme uses shared vehicles; an exclusive vehicle and guide cost extra. The private villa has a distinct service arrangement. Our complete private safari arrangement includes dedicated guiding and authorised transport for your party, with scheduled compulsory access charges included. Accommodation Only retains the booked camp basis. All guests need comprehensive travel and medical insurance and emergency evacuation coverage; temporary evacuation membership is purchased by the operator at an extra cost. Deposits, payment deadlines, cancellation charges and any stricter third-party conditions are set out before confirmation. The operator requires a 20% deposit and the balance 45 days before arrival. Under its standard cancellation schedule, 20% of the total is retained 90–45 days before arrival, 50% at 44–30 days and 100% from 29 days before arrival. Earlier cancellation refunds deduct bank charges; no-shows and unused stays are not refunded.
